Immigration and Asylum Coverage

  • Describes the indigenous population of the United Kingdom as "those who view themselves as the indigenous population".[1]
  • Opposition to illegal immigration, which is the law of the country, and the manifesto of every major party, is a far right idea.[2]

Political Bias and Framing

Crime Reporting (Omissions, Hearsay and Passive Language)

  • Newmarket man is charged with murder. Police found a body in Taiwo Abodunde's home.[82]
  • Man charged after pregnant woman stabbed. Mihai Popescu charged with stabbing a heavily pregnant women.[83]
  • Described an assassination attempt with a firearm on Donald Trump as "loud bangs".[84]
  • Describes a gun as "went off", as if it could happen without the operator pulling the trigger.[85]
  • Failed to mention that Ricky Jones called for peoples throats to be cut, and only mentioned that he gestured it.[86]
  • Describes direct and immediate threat of slitting someones throat in a riot as a "remark".[87]
  • Describes the video of a man gesticulating and demanding to kill people with opposing viewpoints as "appearing" to show he said that the throats of rioters should be cut.[88][89]

  • Took 8 weeks to confirm Hamas raped and mutilated women in the October 7th attacks in Israel.[99]
  • The camera man of a documentary about Gaza appears to celebrate the October 7th massacre in Israel.[100]

COVID-19

  • Described the COVID-19 lab leak theory as "conspiracy theory", "false claim", "baseless claim" and had been pushed by conspiracy groups while pushing Chinese propaganda that it originated in the US.[116]
  • Misrepresented COVID-19 risk to boost lockdown support.[117]
  • We are all at risk of COVID-19 and that the virus does not discriminate, despite the risk to over 75's being 10,000 times higher than under 15s.[117]

  • Asylum seekers describing their government provided accommodation as having nearby trees being too loud in the wind and that the bathroom was cold in the Winter is worthy of an article.[142]
  • A lady misses a bus because it is full.[143]
  • Wrote an article about a women who thinks the police should do more about a man from India exposing himself on the internet.[144]

Financial and Operational

Historical Controversies
